Welcome to Portland Maine’s Historic Social Club and Event Space
Woodfords Club was organized on September 19, 1913, and the clubhouse, designed by famed Portland architect John Calvin Stevens and his son John Howard, opened its doors one year later. For many years it was primarily a social club. Today, you can rent this charming and historic building for private or public events.
Though the club has expanded to include rentals, the social organization continues and evolves, bringing an ever more diverse community together, as Portland grows and changes. Members then and now enjoy regular dinners together, and often congregate over a variety of games.

Discover the Camaraderie of Membership
Woodfords has been a social club in Portland for more than a century, with a focus on being non-sectarian and non-political. Here at the club, we welcome people from all walks of life, and enjoy spending time together over dinners, entertainment, pool, board games, card games, or our vintage candlepin bowling alley. Come get to know us and find out if you’d like to join the club!
Events Open to the Public
Though we are a private social club, we often hold events for the community or that are open to the public. Click through to see what upcoming events you might attend at Woodfords.
